Our History
Webb Hill Cemetery holds a significant place in the heart of Wolfe City, Texas and surrounding areas. Established over 100 years ago, our cemetery has become a cherished landmark in the community. When the Republic of Texas created the Central National Road from Austin to Indian Territory, it passed through the northwest corner of Hunt County. At least four of the men who helped with laying out the road received land grants in the area, one of which was Joel Webb. Webb donated land for the cemetery at the death of his mother Nancy in 1856 who was the first burial. The rich history of Webb Hill Cemetery is a testament to the enduring values of respect, compassion, and tranquility.
Throughout the years, Webb Hill Cemetery has undergone significant change and development while maintaining its commitment to the history and memory of those who have gone before us. Webb Hill Cemetery has always been more than just a resting place; it is a supportive community for families during times of remembrance and healing. Through homecoming memorial services and perpetual care, we continue to nurture a sense of belonging and comfort for all who visit our grounds.
